Academic Regulations- Mid-Semester
Progress Reports Consistent with the 6-week course drop policy, instructors are strongly urged to provide substantive evaluative feedback to students before the end of the drop period.
Instructors can provide evaluative feedback to students as well as their academic advisers at any point during the semester by using the Academic Progress Reports function available on line through the Registration and Records - Faculty Access. Progress Reports Online

Comments: The hardcopy Academic Difficulty Report will no longer be used. Click here for the web page related to this regulation. The NCSU recommendation is to provide information before the 6-week drop deadline (click here). Reminders for deadlines are available online (beginning of semester, and end of semester reminders).
Purpose: As a mechanism to communicate information about students performance to students and their advisers.
Submit progress reports to students who are doing exceptionally poorly in your class. You may also submit a progress report for a student who is doing exceptionally well. Check the progress reports of your advisees.
Deadline: There is no deadline for submission of reports; however, it is good to inform students of problems before the drop deadline (see the Registration Calendar for the date).
