Committee on Undergraduate Program Review (CUPR) |

Charge The Vice Provost
for Undergraduate Affairs charges the Committee on Undergraduate Program
Review (CUPR) with primary faculty oversight for the undergraduate academic
program review process. As such, CUPR will schedule and manage the submission
of portfolios submitted as part of the undergraduate program review process;
identify needed forms of support for the process including administrative,
educational, technological, and financial support; and advise the Vice
Provost for Undergraduate Affairs on all issues related to the program
review process. Program review cycles will be coordinated with a program's
accreditation cycles whenever possible. Programs will submit their reviews
in at least seven-year cycles to the Provost and to CUPR. CUPR will consult
with faculty at the college and department level on preparing portfolios
for review and will review submitted portfolios, providing feedback on
matters related to the process to the program's faculty and administration,
the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs, and the Provost. CUPR will determine whether the portfolios are complete
and whether the process has been adequately carried out (i.e., quality
issues have been adequately addressed, and required activities such as
assessment of outcomes, communication at the various levels departmental,
college, cross-college, etc. are being carried out). Regarding assessment of outcomes and reflecting the faculty-driven nature
of this process, CUPR supports the faculty's expertise in understanding
and pursuing the kinds of information that are most meaningful to each
discipline that will clarify (1) the program's goals and objectives, (2)
how well the program meets those objectives via observable and measurable
student learning outcomes, and (3) the evidence to substantiate those
outcomes. CUPR will submit an annual report on its activities to the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs. |
