North Carolina State University Handbook for Advising and Teaching

5-3.1 STEPS FOR REGISTERING:

1. Degree students meet with their advisers to determine appropriate course requirements and to obtain a Personal ID Number (PIN). Currently enrolled Lifelong Education students will be mailed a PIN, while new or re-entering Lifelong Education students will be issued their PIN Number when they submit their Registration Application to the Office of Adult Credit Programs & Summer Sessions.

 2. Students use the Schedule of Courses to develop a class schedule free of conflicts. Students will then register using Pack Tracks.

 3. Students pay tuition, fees, and all other debts to the University and clear all "Holds" by the tuition deadline. Failure to do so will result in the student's registration being canceled. Class schedules are not maintained for later payments. If a student's registration is canceled as a result of an outstanding debt to the University, the student will be required to follow late registration procedures and pay a  $100.00 non-refundable late registration fee*. Additionally, students requesting to register for the first time for the upcoming semester after late registration begins will also be charged a $100.00 late registration fee*. Students requesting to register after the last day to add a course(s) will be charged a $150.00 late registration fee*.

*UGS, PBS, Inter-Institutional, new undergraduate and new graduate students are excluded from the late registration fees.
