9-7 CAREER PLANNING AND PLACEMENT CENTER

The University Career Center has a two-fold mission:  to assist students in developing their career objectives and to provide a link for students to the employment world.  Services of the Center, located at 2100 Pullen (career_services@ncsu.edu) are available on a year-round basis to all students, from entering freshmen through graduate study.  Alumni services are provided through an alumni counselor in the Center.

To assist in career development the Center provides  individual counseling and small group career decision-making sessions.  Services for students engaged in the job-seeking process (for full-time, part-time jobs and internships) include: information sessions on the job-search process, on-campus interviews, referral of student resumes to requesting employers, and  job vacancy announcements in the Center and on the Center's home page.

The Center maintains a home page (URL:  http://www.ncsu.edu/career/) with career decision-making and job-seeking information, including the on-campus interview schedules, on-line resume entry, links to employer home pages, and  information on many careers. The Center maintains an extensive career library of both printed and audiovisual materials to provide students with career and job information.

As a liaison with business, government, and industrial communities, the Center is available to furnish a variety of career-related information to the University faculty and administration.
