Braille

Braille is a tactile reading system that uses embossed dots. The DSO uses Duxbury translation software to emboss course materials into Braille. The DSO also has Power Braille 40 refreshable Braille display unit, Braille-N-Speak note-takers, Type-N-Speak note-takers, and a Blazie Engineering Braille Blazer portable embosser available for checkout for student or departmental use. The DSO will not process any requests for alternate format materials prior to registration in the course. The DSO does not provide alternate format materials for personal use or study (Section 504, 104.44(d)(2)). Responsibilities are as follows.
