Vision

African American faculty, staff and students who are successfully engaged in the academic life of the university.

Mission

To promote the academic excellence of African American students and the professional success of faculty and staff.

Goals

  1. Oversee current functioning and future development of the African American Cultural Center;
  2. Assist with efforts designed to ensure admission, retention, advancement and graduation of African American students;
  3. Advocate for the academic and professional needs of African American faculty;
  4. Conduct research on the African American experience at NC State;
  5. Provide support and advocacy for organizations such as:
  • African American Coordinating Committee
  • African American Community Advisory Council
  • Association for the Concerns of African American Graduate Students
  • African American Students Advisory Council
  • African American Faculty and Staff Organization
  • Multicultural Student Affairs
  • African Students’ Organizations.
