Vision

An academically competent pre-college citizenry that is prepared to enter NC State University equipped to successfully meet its academic and social challenges.

Mission

To provide supplemental instruction for pre-college middle and secondary school students and transitional instruction for first-year NC State students, particularly those from under-represented groups in the sciences, engineering, teaching, mathematics, and technology.

Goals

  1. Increase the number and quality of diverse high school graduates, particularly those from under-represented groups in the sciences, engineering, teaching, mathematics, and technology;
  2. Foster internal and external partnerships to fund, enhance, and evaluate pre-college and transitional programming;
  3. Manage and administer the NC Legislative College Opportunity Program awards for first year UNC system college students who completed UNC system pre-college programs; and
  4. Coordinate transitional instruction for first-year NC State students as reinforcement of skills to enhance expeditious advancement toward graduation.
