Psychology Jeopardy!

This year, 2008, marks the 11th anniversary of the Conference's popular tradition of having a Psychology Jeopardy competition to close out the day on Saturday. Dr. Jim Kalat will once again create the questions and host the event. Three colleges will compete in a game modeled after the television show, except that all questions pertain to various aspects of psychology. The winning team receives a trophy to take home to its school, as well as having its school's name engraved on a trophy held at Meredith College, which identifies the winners from every year. The winning team members also win a free student membership in professional organizations such as APA and/or APS. Prizes are given to the other competitors and have included items such as books related to the discipline and/or and gift certificates to restaurants. Barton College has won the competition for three consecutive years (2005, 2006, 2007) and will hopefully be returning this year to defend its title.

Students interested in competing in the Jeopardy competition should have a psychology faculty member from their department contact CPC Faculty Co-Chair, Dr. Karen Young. The three competing teams consist of two students from each school. Students who compete in Jeopardy are not required to be presenting at the conference themselves but someone from the students' school must be presenting at the conference.
