Frequently Asked Questions

How can I study for the MAT?

You can purchase a study guide at NCSU Bookstores or at any of the large commercial bookstores. A Candidate Information Booklet, which describes the testing procedures and has sample test questions, is also available. You may pick one up in Room 640 in Poe Hall, view it online at www.milleranalogies.com, or call 1-800-622-3231 to have one mailed to you.

Where is the test given?

The test is given in Poe Hall, 4th floor. (Parking is free after 5:00pm on weekdays and all day on Saturday and Sunday.)

When will I get my scores?

You will receive your scores approximately 2 weeks after testing.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

Call the MAT clerk by noon of the day before the exam to cancel or reschedule. You will forfeit all fees paid if (1) you do not contact us on time to cancel or reschedule; or (2) you fail to take the exam on your newly scheduled date for reasons other than those beyond your control (i.e., adverse weather, hospitalization).

What do I do if the weather looks threatening?

Call 515-1713 and choose option 2 for a recorded message.

What do I need to bring?

-Two forms of ID: one must be government issued (driver's license or passport) or school issued with signature; the other can be a Social Security card or birth certificate

-The names of up to 3 schools to which you want your scores sent

-Your admission ticket (if this is a re-test)
