Information:
Many users at NC State have noticed problem with certain websites
(RealPHX, TalkStocks, BuddyPictures, BuddyLinks, etc.). These sites contain
malicious code that will install software on your computer, change your default
homepage
in
Internet
Explorer, and add links to your AOL Instant Messenger profile. Other damage
from these worms is unknown at this time.
ResNet strongly recommends that users infected with these
worms run a complete antivirus scan on their computers and
use some sort of spyware removal utility
(such as SpyBot
Search & Destroy or Ad-Aware).
ALERT: Before attempting
to complete any of these instructions, it is STRONGLY recommended
that you make
a complete backup of your system Registry. This will allow you to correct
any mistakes that you may make, or help to recover from any problems that result
from following these instructions.

(ISP) or anti-virus software vendor for assistance.
