 Who We Are

The Association of Retired Faculty (ARF) consists of retired faculty and EPA professional staff from North  Carolina State University. The  organization was founded in 1983 to share common interests and to
maintain an  organized Association with the University.

Mission Statement

The Association of Retired Faculty (ARF) seeks to promote the general welfare of its retired faculty, of the  University and society in general. The Association offers retirees a continuing link with the University, as well as  opportunities for social gatherings, stimulation of the mind, and service to NC State.

Our Luncheon Programs

Our luncheons are the Association's highlights. We meet at the University Club on the third Wednesday of the following months: September, October, November, January, February, March, April and May.

The Friday Award

The Friday Award, named in honor of Emeritus President Friday is given annually to an individual chosen by the  ARF Board. It was awarded the first time in May of 2010 to President Friday himself. The Award recognizes  exemplary accomplishments and contributions made during retirement. Status as a retired NC State faculty member is a highly desirable eligibility requirement. However, the Award may be given to a retired person who is an alumna or alumnus of NC State, to a person who is not a retired faculty member,

or to one who is not or has not been an employee of NC State or in academia in general.
