The Association of Retired Faculty (ARF) solicits nominations for the William C. Friday Award for Distinguished Service in Retirement. Service in retirement activities that go beyond the continuation of one’s prior professional career will be emphasized. The nominee may come either from among retired members of the NCSU community or other retirees with distinguished service who may not have been affiliated with the University. The award may be made posthumously and more than one may be made in a given year. The nomination should include a one page write-up of the individual’s background and accomplishments in retirement and up to 10 pages of supportive material such as news articles, supporting letters, testimonials, or a recent resume. The one page write-up should include the name and contact information for the nominee and nominator.
Nominations will be accepted through Friday March 6, 2015. Nominations may be sent by email (preferred) or US Mail to:

The honoree(s) will be recognized at the end of year ARF Luncheon held on the third Wednesday in May (10:30 am-1:30 pm) and the NCSU University Club. At this event, the honorees will be presented certificate(s) and afforded the opportunity for remarks.
