2010 NCSU Study Abroad Photo Contest
Submit photos from your study abroad experience for a chance to win cash and prizes and to have your pictures featured around campus!!
Who may enter:
Any North Carolina State student who has participated in any study abroad program (NC State or non-NC State) between Fall 2009 and Summer 2010.
What to enter:
You may submit up to 4 amateur photos (no more than 2 in any single category) that you took while abroad.
The photos should capture an experience or record an observation abroad, and somehow represent the ideals of study abroad (academic learning, cultural appreciation, international awareness, sensitivity, and fun).
Please submit high resolution unedited digital pictures (minimum dimension 1400px by 1050px).
Please note:
- Photos must have been taken by the NCSU student submitting the photo while on a study abroad program.
- The pictures can be from the host country or another location visited during the study abroad program.
- If you submit more than 2 photos for a category, we will accept the first two and delete the others.
Categories:
| Natural and Urban Landscapes: Show us the sights, natural wonders and thrilling architecture of your destinations! |
|
| People and Culture: Share your photos that capture the essence of the people and culture of your host country and the places you visited. |
|
| The Pack Abroad: Submit photos of the Pack (NCSU students and faculty) on their programs abroad. |

How to enter
Complete, attach, and email the entry form and your photo(s) to peer_presenters@ncsu.edu. You should name your picture files as you have named them on the entry form. The subject of the email must contain "photo contest submission."
Entry deadline
Photos and entry forms must be received by email no later than 5pm on Wednesday, September 8, 2010.
Judging
A panel of judges will select 10 photo entires from each category for a final round of voting open to the public on the NCSU Study Abroad Facebook page. The public voting will be open from September 24 to October 15. Winners will be notified by email and announced on the website after October 16.
Prizes
All pictures will have a chance to be highlighted on the SAO website, displayed during International Education Week in November, and included in SAO marketing materials.
First place in each category will receive a prize package from local donors. (Please check back for updates on prizes)

Additional Information
The Study Abroad Office reserves the right to use all submitted photos on the website, in printed informational materials, and with other study abroad promotional items.
The Study Abroad Office reserves the right to deem a photo “inappropriate” and/or ineligible for competition. Failure to follow the guidelines and/or falsification of information on the entry form will result in immediate disqualification for the contest and forfeit the student's claim of any prize money or other items.
