Q: Does NC State University have a policy on sexual orientation? A: Yes. Although there are no Federal or State laws that cover this, NC State University does have a policy that prohibits discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation. You can view this policy at: http://www.fis.ncsu.edu/ncsulegal/areg-sexual.html.
A: You should seek assistance through the Office for Equal Opportunity (OEO) or talk with a Harassment Resolution Officer (HRO). OEO and the HROs handle complaints of harassment and discrimination based not only on sexual orientation but also on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, creed, age, disability and veteran status. To learn more information about what to do if you are harassed, visit OEO's web site at: http://www.ncsu.edu/equal_op/harassment.html.
A: Yes. The Office for Equal Opportunity offers a variety of programs, such as the Equal Opportunity Institute (EOI), the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), and other specialized programs, that focus on discrimination and harassment. You may view these educational offerings at: http://www.ncsu.edu/equal_op/education.html.
