-
Set up Probes-
This menu item will allow you to tell the calculator how many and what types of probes are connected to the
CBL. For some probes, it may also allow you to calibrate the probes.
- Collect Data-
This menu item will give you options as to how the you will see the data and how it is collected.
- View Graph-
This menu item will show you a graph of the data you have collected.
- Retrieve Data-
This menu item will allow you to retrieve data from the CBL if the CBL interface was used to collect data without the calculator attached.
- Options-
This menu item has miscellaneous functions for graphical analysis and data collection.
- Quit-
This menu item is used to exit the PHYSICS program. You MUST quit the PHYSICS program before beginning
advanced analysis of the graph.
Select Probe Menu: (Probes must be connected to the CBL interface to be selected)

- Motion-
Selects the motion detector which can measure distance and automatically calculates velocity and acceleration.
- Force-
Selects the force probe which measures force in Newtons.
- Accelerometer-
Selects the accelerometer probe which can measure acceleration in 1, 2 or 3 directions depending on your particular probe.
- Microphone-
Selects the microphone to be used in sound experiments.
- Pressure-
Selects the pressure probe which measures gas pressures in kPa, mmHg or atm.
- Temperature-
(Included in the CBL interface kit.) Selects the temperature probe which measures temperature in units of degrees Celsius.
- Light-
(Included in the CBL interface kit.) Selects the light probe which measures light intensity.
- Magnetic Field-
Selects magnetic field probes and measures the magnetic field in units of gauss or tesla.
- Voltage-
(Included in the CBL interface kit.) Selects the voltage probe to measure voltages.
- C-V Current / C-V Voltage-
Selects probes which can either be used to measure current or voltage. These are special Vernier probes.
- Thermocouple-
Selects the thermocouple probe which measures very high and very low temperature. Recommended for use in studying flame temperatures.

- Monitor Input-
Allows you to view what the probe is reading before actually collecting data.
- Time Graph-
Sets the calculator up to show a time graph once data has been collected. If you have a live graph, you will see this time graph as data is collected.
- Trigger/Prompt-
This allows you to use the TRIGGER button on the CBL interface to start and stop data collection.
- Trigger-
This allows you to use the TRIGGER button on the CBL interface to take data only at the times when you hit the
TRIGGER button.
- Return-
Brings you back to the main menu.

- Select Region-
This allows you to pick which data to graph.
- Integrate-
Allows you to select a region of the graph for which the computer will integrate the area under the curve.
- Manual Trigger-
This allows you to use the TRIGGER button on the CBL interface to start and stop data collection.
- Triggering-
Only works with select probes.
