Getting the PHYSICS programs into the calculators

  • Go to the TI calculator website (TI Calculator Page).
    Click on calculator program archive. Click on TI GraphLink. Under the heading Download GraphLink for click on TI-83. Click the format (Mac or Windows) that you need and the program will be immediately downloaded. Follow any directions that appear on the screen. GraphLink should be on your computer.


  • Go to the Vernier Software website (Vernier Software).
    Click on Programs. Click the format (Mac or Windows), and then click on Download Programs Now. You will receive the Vernier CBL Data Collection folder (file). End your Web session.


  • Transferring The Files MACINTOSH


    1. Connect the TI-GRAPH LINK cable to the modem port of the Macintosh computer and to the port on the bottom edge of the TI-83.


    2. Turn on the TI-83 Graphing calculator. Make sure you have a blank screen with a blinking cursor. If you don't then quit (hit 2ND and MODE buttons). The calculator is now waiting for the programs.


    3. Using the TI-GRAPH LINK software on your computer, choose Send from the Link menu. Then choose Group (you will have to scroll down to get this)from the Select pull-down menu near the bottom of this window.


    4. Select the PHYSCS83.83g file from the TI-83 folder in your Vernier CBL Data Collection disk (or on your computer hard drive). Then click on Add.


    5. Click on the Send button. The nine programs are now loaded into your TI-83 calculator.


  • Transferring the files WINDOWS

    1. Connect the TI-GRAPH LINK cable to the serial port of your computer and to the port on the bottom edge of the TI-83.


    2. Turn on the TI-83 Graphing calculator. Make sure you have a blank screen with a blinking cursor. If you don't then quit (hit 2ND and MODE buttons). The calculator is now waiting for the programs.


    3. In TI-GRAPH LINK, choose Send from the Link menu.


    4. Select PHYSCS83.83g from the TI-83 folder in your Vernier CBL Data Collection disk (or on your computer hard drive).


    5. Click on the add button then select OK. The nine programs are now loaded into your TI-83 calculator.
