Cameras that have non-removable storage require a cable to the computer and software which will allow the computer to download the stored images from the camera. There is no other method for transferring the images other than hard wires from the camera to the computer. The cables and the software should be included with the purchased camera.

Usually cameras with this configuration are older cameras, or those that are very inexpensive. Note that the inexpensive cameras not only lack the flexibility of having removable media, but they may also have a limited resolution and limited storage capacity.

Sometimes an external power supply is required while downloading.
