The ability to move from the flat, two dimensional world to an immersive, three-dimensional world is one of the advantages to incorporating QuickTime object movies into web curriculum. Object movies allow the viewer to actually experience and explore a place or thing by viewing objects in three dimensions rather than just viewing a flat, two-dimensional image.

Educational Uses

The North Carolina EarthKam uses QuickTime VR to help students visualize and understand difficult concepts concerning such topics as the relationship of the sun to the earth in a 24 hour period and the path of the space shuttle follows as it orbits around the earth.
