Check out the Math Magic section, a problem challenge for student teams, using telecommunications. 21st Century Problem-Solving from Howard McAllister at University of Hawaii Numbers Alive from NCTM Try a guest visit to the Math Den from Digital Education Network. Type guest in both blanks to enter. Math Homework Help Flash Cards for Kids is an interesting use of the web sponsored by Tomas Rivera Elementary School. A 9th grade math proficiency test from NASA's Lewis Research Center BasketMath Online Interactive, an interactive math practice for grades 4-10 with a basketball theme. `Science Potpourri`	Teacher Lesson Plans from IMSEnet gives direct links to science lesson plans available on the Web. The Women of NASA has six sections with the goal of encouraging more young women to pursue careers in math, science, and technology. 4000 Years of Women in Science from the University of Alabama has biographies of women scientists. The Yuckiest site on the Internet from New Jersey Online features Bug World and Worm World. Science's Next Wave - Resources for the Next Generation of Scientists has lots of information from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The Why Files from the NSF gives the science behind the news. The announcements for the Nobel Prize for '95-'97 from the Nobel Prize Foundation give good explanations of the winners' research. Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Mathematics and Science Education has science links, lesson plans, and teacher resources. Ameritech's Teacher Lounge Science has many links to science resources for teachers. The Oak Ridge National Laboratory features explanations of research and a photo sampler. BioChemNet has educational links which demonstrate the connections between biology and chemistry. Visit Science Junction, a cyber-community for science teachers and students from the SERVIT Group in Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education and the Science House at NC State.
