Session: Redistricting and Campaign Planning

Description:

Dan Frey, GIS Projects Coordinator for the NC General Assembly, will discuss the legislature's use of GIS in redistricting. The legislature is currently preparing for a special legislative session to redraw state house and senate district plans. Mr. Frey will give an overview of the redistricting task and then go into specifics on the structure and functionality of the legislature's redistriciting system.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has just defeated George Bush as the Republican candidate for Presidency of the United States. Can Arnold use GIS to defeat his Democratic opponent, John Edwards from North Carolina in the 2004 Presidential election?
