Meet Our Speakers . . .



Dr. Larry Nielsen is the Dean of the College of Natural Resources at North Carolina State University. Larry is a fisheries scientist who holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois, an M.S. from the University of Missouri and a PhD from Cornell. He is the author of over 100 publications and three textbooks - his most recent about ecosystem management. In addition to his activities as dean of the college, Larry is the environmental sustainability coordinator for NC State University and teaches short courses in ecosystem management and communication skills for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service. His current scholarly interests focus on sustainable resource management. The College of Natural Resources is pleased to have so many of our faculty and staff participating in GIS Live NC 2003.
