Level 2: GIS-Wise and Ready to Roll -- How can I get started with GIS as a learning tool?

Activity 1: GIS LIVE Scavenger Hunts
Scavenger Hunt 1: Use the student activity sheet (.pdf) or (.doc) to search the virtual exhibits and find out how many areas of our lives are influenced by GIS.
Click here (.pdf) or (.doc) for the "Virtual Exhibit GIS Scavenger Hunt".

Activity 2: ArcVoyager Activity: Where Are You?
Download the ArcVoyager CD from ESRI free. Use ArcVoyager World Atlas to have students design clues for each other that will guide them to a place in the world. Click here for directions and examples of other student projects.

Activity 3: ArcVoyager Activity: Volcanoes and Earthquakes
Download the ArcVoyager CD from ESRI free. Use "Point Me" to look at where volcanoes and earthquakes are located around the world. Download current earthquake data. Where were most of the earthquakes yesterday? How big were they? Click here for directions to "Volcanoes and Earthquakes" and click here for directions to "Bringing Earthquake Data into ArcVoyager from the Internet".

For over 100 additional ArcVoyager lessons go to ArcLessons or to KanGIS.
