2004 Crossing Boundaries With GIS
Join educators and students, government and the general public in celebrating
GIS Day, 2004! GISLiveNC is one of our state’s many contributions to
the GIS Day global event. GIS Day seeks to educate millions of children
and adults about how geography makes a difference in our lives and to
demonstrate GIS technology at schools and organizations around the world.
“Crossing Boundaries with GIS” is the theme and everyone
is encouraged to participate by “tuning in” to the streaming
video webcast. Why not project the webcast onto a screen or wall in
your school or office so everyone can join in the excitement?
2004 Exemplary GIS Projects
Exemplary projects will be presented via the Web on Wednesday, November
17th from 9:00AM. to 2:00PM, 2004. EST. Participants were able to call or submit questions using an online question form.
2004 GIS LIVE Team Challenge
See GIS in action and meet teachers and students across our state as
they discover how we can cross boundaries with GIS. Can you, as a GIS
professional, work with a teacher in your area and help them with the
Hurricane Zeus disaster scenario as they use GIS and NC OneMap in a
skillful problem solving exercise? The web site has full details on
how to participate in the scenario, how to stream the video, the schedule
for the event, and other helpful information for teachers.
