| Salary Range for
Medical Illustrators: |
From a 1996 Salary Survey done by the Association
of Medical Illustrators:
Frequently, a younger illustrator will begin with a lower yearly salary or hourly rate if they are freelancing. But, if they are part of a department or company, the amount charged for an illustration depends on the kind of illustration not the experience level of the illustrator. Hourly rates: institutional prices by type of work produced (these
are lower since the departments are partially subsidized by a company or
school)
