In the Autumn 2008 issue of Coastwatch, Robin Wienke and Barry Nash help consumers recognize quality at local seafood counters. Ann Green takes readers to a teacher workshop exploring the latest in undersea research. Jerry Allegood explains how laser blasts are helping Sea Grant's Maritime Heritage Fellow unlock secrets from a Civil War gunboat. And Wienke reports on how schoolyard projects funded by the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Program are helping protect North Carolina's estuaries.
