NC State Employees Combined Campaign
Giving back is a hallmark of NC State. Throughout our university’s history, we have consistently demonstrated our willingness and dedication to contributing to the quality of life, economic health and general vitality of the state, nation and world. Our commitment and willingness certainly begin with the quality education we provide our students, but they extend much further, reaching even to basic human needs such as food, shelter and clothing.
In the spirit of this rich and long-standing tradition, we begin our 2011 State Employees Combined Campaign. Last year, despite a difficult economy, you again showed the depth of your commitment to giving by donating almost $580,000 to the Campaign. This year, with the theme of Wolfpack Gives Back, we will be focused on campus-wide participation and hope to increase our participation level to 40 percent. A network of coordinators, captains and volunteers will be calling on you between now and November 4, when the campaign ends.
Through this campaign, our employees can choose from among more than 1,000 qualified organizations and set an important example for our university system peers as the leader in service throughout our community, our state and beyond. This year, you will have two options for making your pledge. In addition to the traditional paper forms distributed by your team captains, e-pledging is now available. No matter how you make your gift or pledge, the impact will be felt by those who experience the greatest need. Through your participation you might win one of our incentive prizes, including a red Ben Owens III pot, a replica of Carter-Finley Stadium, a gift card to an area restaurant or a year’s parking pass.
I recognize the challenges that state employees face as you enter the third year without salary increases. But especially in difficult times, the Wolfpack Gives Back. In the true tradition of NC State, please be ready to respond with a contribution to this year’s campaign. Let's remind ourselves and our fellow North Carolinians that giving back is one of NC State’s greatest traditions.
