MISSION STATEMENT

The NC State University Sensory Service Center conducts contract (proprietary) studies using qualitative and quantitative sensory testing and volatile compound analyses tailored to meet the needs of its clientele. These efforts are augmented by independent research and exploration conducted in the internationally recognized program of Professor Drake.

Ways we can help your research capacity, business productivity or product development:
  • Work with you to assess your needs and requirements.
  • Design and implement analytical sensory tests including difference tests, threshold tests, and descriptive sensory analysis
  • Design and implement consumer panel and focus group analysis.
  • Perform consumer acceptability testing.
  • Statistical reporting and analysis.
  • Interpret results and make recommendations related to your needs.
  • On-site workshops at your facility tailored to your interests and needs
  • On-site panel training at your facility
  • Volatile compound extraction (headspace and solvent extraction capacity) with GC-MS and/or GC/O.
