Leadership Positions, Awards and Professional Memberships Leadership Positions Team Leader for the Authentic Assessment team of the Orange High School Professional Development School (1996-present). Co-presenter for Orange High School Professional Development School Summer Workshop on Authentic Assessment (Summer 1997). Chair of the Instructional Media Committee of American Association of Physics Teachers (1996-present), providing leadership and information in areas concerning instructional media for the organization. Member of Instructional Media Committee of American Association of Physics Teachers (1991-1995, 1996-present), providing leadership and information in areas concerning instructional media for the organization. Founding member and program facilitator TOPS (Triangle Organization of Physics Sharing) (1986-present) local group of physical science and physics teachers. First Aid/Hospitality Committee Chairman for 1993 NCSTA convention. Facilitator on the Science Council (formerly the Math-Science Council) Orange County Schools (1993- present). Co-organizer for Orange County Schools Science Share-a-thon an in-service activity to promote sharing among classroom teachers at all levels in the Orange County Schools-modeled on NCSTA drive-in conferences and CESI sharing sessions (1996-1997). PTRA-PLUS program (Physics Teaching Resource Agent-PLUS (1992-present) and PTRA program (1986-1989) member of a group of several hundred physics teachers providing workshop support and leadership for other physics teachers in the U.S., funded by NSF and run by the American Association of Physics Teachers. Science Department Chairman, Orange High School, Hillsborough, N.C. (1989-1991) assisted with hiring of new science department members, provided resources and assistance for other department members, helped to develop school policies, provided leadership in curriculum matters.
