1996-1998 Grants 1996 King, M., Park, J., and Beichner, R. Graduate Research Traineeships in Instructional Technology for Science Education. National Science Foundation. Amount Funded = $562,000. This grant will provided
funding for 5 graduate students in Science Education, Physics, and Forestry
for the next five years. These graduate students form an interdisciplinary
group whose primary research emphasis is on the use of instructional technology.
This grant began in the Fall of 1996 and will continue through the Spring
of 2001. 1997 Bodzin, A., Park, J. C., and Munro, M. Instructional Materials for Science Educators Resource CD-ROM. A proposal to the Philip Morris Incentive Grants Project. Amount Funded = $4,600. This grant was used to collect computer-based instructional resources to include on a CD-ROM. The CD was created in May 1997, and the resulting 1000 copies have been distributed free to science teachers around the country. Haase, D. G., Park,
J. C., and Banks, A. J. Empower Science. A proposal to the National Science
Foundation. Amount Funded = $622,813. Park, J. C. and Haase, D. G. The Science Junction. A proposal to the NCSU Provost office, College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and College of Education and Psychology to establish a professionally designed web site for science teachers and students.Ý Amount Funded = $281,478. This project was granted
funding to establish a professionally designed web site for science teachers
and students. It is to be a highly interactive web site which promotes
