Faculty Research Award
	Chapter members are invited to nominate young scientists who have demonstrated excellence in their areas of research specialization, subject to the following criteria: Nominee shall be within 5 years of his/her first tenure track appointment. (Up to a two year extension will be considered for family/medical reasons.)* Nominee shall be an active member in the NC State Chapter of Sigma Xi or an initiate at the time of award. Evidence of superior achievements in research performed since coming to NCSU* will provide the basis for the award selection. Recipients of the SIGMA XI RESEARCH AWARDS will be recognized at the Sigma Xi Awards and Initiation Event.  *Amended by Executive Committee upon recommendation of Awards Committee, Spring 2007. The nomination packet should include the following: Nominating letter describing the importance or impact of the nominee's research. The nominating letter must be endorsed or co-endorsed by an active (dues paid through current year (July 1-June 30) member of Sigma Xi. Letters from a minimum of two references, at least one of which should be from an institution other than NC State, attesting to the significance of the nominee's work. A recent curriculum vitae of the nominee. Nominations may be submitted electronically or on paper.
