Two N.C. State Student Media publications won Crown awards at the Spring National College Media Convention March 10 in New York City. The 2012 Windhover, edited by Alanna Howard, received the College Magazine Silver Crown. A Silver Crown was also presented to the 2012 Agromeck, edited by Kathryn Glaser and Susannah Brinkley.

When the Democratic National Convention came to Charlotte in September, N.C. State Student Media had a unique opportunity to send its reporters and photographers to cover the event first-hand. With more than 600 miles between Raleigh and the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Technician editor-in-chief Mark Herring knew he needed additional resources to keep coverage balanced.

The Sunshine Center of the North Carolina Open Government Coalition, in collaboration with N.C. State Student Media, will host its annual Sunshine Day celebration Monday, March 11 at the McKimmon Center on NCSU's campus.
