The Associated Collegiate Press announced Feb. 12, that the NCSU Agromeck yearbook is one of 15 finalists for the national Pacemaker award, one of two top national awards given to college media. The Columbia Scholastic Press Association announced earlier in the year that the same book, the 2007 edition, would receive a national Crown Award this spring.

N.C. State's student yearboook, the Agromeck, and its literary and arts magazine, Windhover, will be recognized with a Crown Award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association this coming spring.
"This award indicates that your publication ranks among the best in student journalism," said Edmund Sullivan, executive director of CSPA.

In addition, WKNC was a finalist in a national competition and the Technician podcast broadcast on WKNC received recognition
At the national convention of the Associated Collegiate Press, College Media Advisers and College Broadcasters, Inc. in Washington, D.C. Oct 25-28, the NCSU Student Media received national recognition and students attending the conference did everything from participate in critiques to teach sessions.

The Associated Collegiate Press announced that a Technician designer and a Student Media photographer were finalists in the ACP 2007 individual competitions. In addition, Windhover, the literary and arts magazine, was named a finalist in the national Pacemaker competition.
Matt Moore, a sophomore in mechanical engineering, and Katie Graf, a senior in communication, were named as finalists for photography and design.
