As part of the student leader hiring process, each applicant for editor of Technician, Nubian Message, Agromeck and Windhover and manager of WKNC and the business office will be interviewed by an advisory board. The advisory board meeting will convene between Feb. 22 and March 11 for each of the four media groupings - newspaper, broadcast, annual publications, and the business office.

N.C. State's print publications earned recognition from the North Carolina College Media Association at its convention held Feb. 16 at N.C. Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro. Launched in 2009, NCCMA's annual awards competition honors the top college newspapers, yearbooks, literary magazines and online news sites across the state. 

Technician previews the upcoming N.C. State men's baseball season in its new Red special edition. The sports staff profile sophomore shortstop Trea Turner, sophomore pitcher Carlos Rodon and assistant coach Chris Hart. Sports editor Jeniece Jamison also compares the Wolfpack to other North and South Carolina programs.

This is the first time Technician has published a Red special edition for baseball. The daily newspaper publishes special sports sections each year for football and men's basketball, along with a homecoming preview.
