N.C. State Student Media is an official Free Speech Week partnering organization for the second consecutive year. Formerly known as National Freedom of Speech Week, Free Speech Week is the country’s premier event celebrating free speech and a free press.

WKNC 88.1 FM has partnered with Student Government to present its first "Fridays on the Lawn" concert of the fall semester. The free event happens Friday, Oct. 12 from 6-8 p.m. on N.C. State's Harris Field. Food will be provided by Marco's Pizza on Hillsborough Street.

Last year 591 students took a senior portrait to be part of the Agromeck yearbook. Your chance to be in the 2013 edition, celebrating 125 years of N.C. Sara Awad, Megan Dunton and Hassan Durant are the newest recipients of the Technician grant. First awarded in 2006, the $1,000 annual award is open to students with fewer than 36 college course hours.
