Autodesk Faculty Home Use

Q: Do faculty who use Autodesk software acquired through NC State's Autodesk's Design Institute Agreement have a right to install a copy of the software at home?
A: Yes. Faculty who have Autodesk Design Institute software installed on their university computer may install a second copy of such software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable computer or a computer located at his or her home, provided that the software on the portable or home computer is used for educational purposes only. No commerical use is allowed.

Q: How do faculty acquire Autodesk software for home use?
A:
Faculty can request AutoCAD by completing the request on the Get Software page. Once the request is made, the OIT Help Desk will provide the CD media and the installation instructions.

For all other Autodesk products requests, please contact Software Licensing.

Q: Can faculty also take advantage of the FREE Autodesk software and other benefits provided by the Student Design Community?
A: Yes. Faculty are provided the same benefits as students.

Q: Is there information faculty can download to provide students the details about the Student Design Community?

Yes. The Student Design Community brochure can be downloaded in PDF format from here.
