ESRI Student Home Use

Q: Do students who use ESRI software acquired through NC State's ESRI Agreement have a right to install a copy of the software at home?
A: Yes. Students are licensed to run the concurrent versions of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcInfo Workstation on their personal computers. The software can be downloaded at no charge from the ArcGIS Download page. In order for the software to function, students will be required to have access to the interent to communicate with the ESRI license server.

Q: What if I'm in a remote location and do not have access to the internet?
A: There currently is no solution for students to use ESRI products without access to the internet.

Q: Can students purchase ESRI Hardware License Keys?
A: No. ESRI Hardware License Keys are available to faculty and staff only. Students are only licensed to run the concurrent version of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcInfo Workstation available to them at no charge from the ArcGIS Download page.
