Microsoft Windows Server CAL Campus Agreement
Through a Microsoft Campus Agreement, the entire NC State campus (including faculty, staff and students) is licensed for Windows Server Client Access Licenses (CALs). Because the license covers every user on campus, colleges or departments are not required to purchase Windows Server CALs for any reason. They are provided by OIT at no charge.
These CALs can be used in conjunction with the unlimited Windows Server site license that NC State acquired in July 2008.
