Product Information
Apple Computing is only selling and supporting MacOS X as an operating system, and most Macintosh computers on campus are either running MacOS X or have the capability to run MacOS X. In order to provide the best support for the campus community, OIT will support only MacOS X on Apple hardware beginning December 31, 2004.
Beginning in 2005, the NC State University Help Desk and other OIT consultants will only train for and provide support in MacOS X. While we understand that there may still be a need for MacOS 9.x (and earlier) support, this support will not be available at the same level as MacOS X support. NC State University Help Desk is available to help any faculty, staff, or student transistion to MacOS X. For support on these and any other computing issues, contact the NC State University Help Desk at help@ncsu.edu or by phone at 515-HELP.
