Charge
The Committee on Export Controls is responsible for the oversight and stewardship of the regulations pertaining to Export Controls. The Committee reports jointly to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business, and the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor.
The Committee on Export Controls will stay abreast of matters involving the institution’s stewardship of regulations pertaining to such matters. Such stewardship entails:
- Conducting a perpetual self-assessment of internal controls to ensure compliance with export control regulations
- Developing and vetting institutional policy on export control matters
- Making organizational and resource recommendations as necessary to implement institutional policy pertaining to export controls matters
- Reviewing complex export control matters and advising cognizant decision makers in such matters
- Reviewing individual or institutional technology control plans required by certain transactions or institutional policy
- Reporting annually to the Executive Export Controls Management Committee on the state of the institution with respect to export controls matters
