Agreement Templates and Reconciliation Guides

Below is an inventory of the standard agreement templates employed by NC State University for sponsored scholarly endeavors and other specialized activities. These agreement templates are NOT FOR use other than by authorized SPARCS personnel.

05/11/2003 Cooperative Research Agreement (CRA) For basic and applied scholarly activities where both parties contribute intellectually as well as resources. Limited use.
07/12/2002 Special Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Delegated to Associate Deans for execution at a maximum of $25K with a special minimum 15% overhead. This document should only be used once in with a sponsor to attract the sponsor to do work with the university. No changes to the standard format are allowed without permission of SPARCS.
03/01/2006 Public Service / Development Work Order One-page special agreement for non-research activities. Intended to be a simplified contracting mechanism  
03/4/2008 Academic Course Design Agreement

aka Senior Design or Capstone Project Agreement

This agreement is for non-federal research applications. The Sponsor will provide a “real-life” problem suitable for classroom instruction. It is a fixed-price agreement with a $25,000 cap and a 15% modified total direct costs F&A rate. Prior to engaging in such a project, a properly processed PINS record is required. Each PINS proposal will include a statement of work, budget, and a completed Academic Design Course Worksheet. Negotiation and execution of any agreement is by SPARCS only.

 

08/16/2006 Graduate Industrial Traineeship

aka, Visiting Student Agreement

 

For use in traineeships of graduate students when the student will perform all or substantially all work on site with the external firm 15% modified total direct costs.

05/00/2006 Testing Services Agreement (ATA) Sponsor-directed protocol-driven work in an established university service center. Runs through purchasing.
05/26/2006 Subcontracting Plan (MBE/WBE/HUB) For use when a small business subcontracting plan is required in a contract Limited usefulness and scope. Talk to management before using.
01/01/2006 Allocation of Rights Agreement For use as may be required in STTR or in certain SBIR proposals. An allocation of rights agreement establishes in more detail the issues surrounding background and foreground intellectual properties anticipated in a collaboration with a small business Run the arrangement by OTT before executing. There may be implications with existing, foreground or background IP.
