Dear Faculty and Staff involved in Research and Sponsored Programs,
The administration of research and sponsored endeavors is a partnership of nearly all administrative bodies on campus as well as the institution’s sponsors and the faculty who lead us towards new knowledge. In fact, research and scholarly pursuit is at the core of NC State University’s mission. Paramount to this mission is the need for funding through grants, contracts, donations and commitments from partners interested in furthering the sciences and arts in which our institution is engaged. We call these partners our sponsors.
Research Administration is dedicated to assisting faculty in navigating the jungle of administrative processes and offices and to find solutions to the perceived and real hurdles to productive sponsored scholarly endeavors. To this end, this website has been designed by a task force of the
University Research Committee (URC) including seasoned faculty particularly experienced in the solicitation and management of external funding. The design is intended to provide a “cradle-to-grave” overview of writing quality proposals, effectively managing the fiscal and technical aspects of awards, disclosing inventions and discoveries, and maintaining the highest integrity in science.
Should you have any questions or concerns about this site, or if you are unable to locate an answer to an administrative question you are researching, you are encouraged to contact the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Administration, Mr. Matt Ronning, by e-mailing me via the following link or by phoning on my direct line at 513-2148:
