The above table illustrates the components of the 46.5% on-campus research rate. Other rates have similar distributions.
Note that the components generated from the institutional support of externally sponsored projects comprises roughly 58% of the total 46.5% rate. The remaining 42% of the rate comes from unit support that I’ve labeled College Support because that is the unit level to which the funds are redistributed. From here the college’s distribute funding based on their individual formulae; a topic to discuss with Dean’s offices.
