Campus Communication Process Resolution 2003-2004
NC State Staff Senate -> Resolutions
Whereas, there are various groups of employees who do not have access to the technology necessary to access information transmitted electronically, and
Whereas, units at NC State University are increasingly using on-line, computer-based formats for communicating with members of the NC State University community, particularly when budgetary issues make cost-saving a priority, and,
Whereas, in the current compensation environment, it is important to make employees aware of all special programs and perquisites, and,
Whereas, there is no single email distribution mechanism for all university employees, and,
Whereas, the university occasionally has a need to quickly communicate emergency information to members of its community, and,
Whereas, effective communications processes contribute to the university’s goal of creating an inclusive and respectful work environment for all employees, therefore, be it
Resolved, that NC State university departments that are communicating information to the campus need to be mindful of employees’ access to on-line communication formats, and be it
Resolved, that a person or persons within each department/unit should be identified who will have responsibility for sharing information with all employees in that department, and be it
Resolved that employees should be given adequate work time to review official campus communications, and be it
Resolved, that NC State University departments should strive to follow best practices guidelines recommended by the Staff Senate.
