Resolution for Staff Access to Computers 2004-2005
NC State Staff Senate -> Resolutions
Whereas, the Staff Senate passed the Campus Communication Process Resolution on December 3, 2003 , and,
Whereas, the University is committed to Learning in a Technology Rich Environment, and,
Whereas, almost all of the critical and emergency messages from the University are disseminated electronically, and,
Whereas, the University has moved toward total electronic submission for all personnel related activities and professional advancement, and,
Whereas, not all University staff members have ready access to computers in their designated work areas, and,
Whereas, computer literacy is not a requirement of all staff positions, and,
Whereas, the Staff Senate supports the development of employees’ advancement toward computer literacy, and,
Whereas, all employees should receive the necessary basic training for computer literacy, and,
Whereas, all employees should have ready access to community accessible computers (i.e.: kiosk, open computer lab, etc.) for communication, information, and advancement, and,
Whereas, all supervisors should support the personal development of their staff in computer literacy and access, therefore, be it
Resolved, the North Carolina State University Staff Senate requests the support of the North Carolina State University Administration in the development of a policy for computer training and access consistent with the above stated goals, and be it
Resolved, the North Carolina State University Staff Senate requests the assistance of North Carolina State University department/unit supervisory personnel in administering this policy.
