Resolution Supporting the Requirement for Appropriate Identification 2005-2006

Whereas, NC State University as a public institution recognizes that its buildings, facilities, and property should be readily accessible,

Whereas, the very nature of the many aspects of the University’s work may require higher levels of security and/or safety requirements,

Therefore, be it resolved that the Staff Senate is supportive of the adoption of appropriate regulations that may require proof of identification and verification of a business or academic need to access certain areas or facilities under the University’s control provided that the regulations do not unduly restrict personal rights or unduly restrict appropriate oversight of University activities by appropriate authorities.
