Staff Senate Resolution of Appreciation to Dr. James Woodward, Chancellor.
NC State Staff Senate -> Resolutions


Whereas, in the late Spring of 2009, NC State University experienced resignations in both the Office of the Chancellor and the Office of the Provost;

Whereas, NC State needed solid leadership and progressive direction in a time of critical fiscal duress;

Whereas, Dr. James H. Woodward, Chancellor Emeritus and Professor of Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, was asked and subsequently consented to come to NC State University to serve in the role of  Chancellor until a new Chancellor could be selected;

Whereas, Chancellor Woodward came to NC State University with a plan to stabilize and  advance the institution’s goals, and eagerly met with all university groups to gain opinions and suggestions;

Whereas, Chancellor Woodward worked tirelessly toward leading NC State University as a flagship institution in the UNC System while simultaneously aiding the governing bodies of the university in finding a new Chancellor that would uphold the highest ideals of NC State University;

Therefore, be it resolved, that the NC State University Staff Senate applauds Dr. Woodward for the exceptional leadership that he has provided to NC State University as Chancellor, and shares its sincere appreciation to Dr. Woodward for his selfless work on behalf of the students, faculty, staff and alumni of NC State University.
