Who can play Intramural Soccer?
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students with a valid NC State All Campus Card
- NC State Faculty and Staff with a valid Carmichael Gym membership
Who can NOT play Intramural Soccer?
- Current scholarship soccer players or anyone listed on the athletic roster provided by NC State
- Household members
How many teams can I play for?
- An individual can only play for one (1) Men's team or one (1) Women's team
- When Co-Rec leagues are offered, an individual may play for one (1) Co-Rec team and one other Men's or Women's team
How does my team make the playoffs?
- Teams will be ranked in the playoffs based on the following criteria: Games Won, Points Allowed, Opponents Record and Sportsmanship Score (for a complete breakdown refer to the IM Sports Handbook)
Forfeits and Defaults
- The forfeit charge for soccer will be $35.00
- Forfeit charges must be paid in the Campus Recreation office within four business days or prior to the next sport entry date, whichever comes first. Failure to pay will result in the team being dropped from the scheduled competition and the captain's student account being charged
Inclement weather
- In case of inclement weather, call 513.0071 on game day. This line will be updated during the week at 3:00pm and on Sundays at 1:00pm
- A lightning detector system is in place at the fields. If a horn sounds three times you team should leave the field immediately
Team Sports Format: League Structure
- Leagues usually consist of five teams playing a five-week, four-game schedule. The number of teams registered determines the number of leagues in a division.
- The following divisions will be offered in Soccer:
Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Grad/Fac/Staff, Fraternity, Sorority, Men’s Residence, Women’s Residence and Co-Rec .
- Team Sportsmanship Rating: Teams must have an average team sportsmanship rating of 2.5 to be eligible for the playoffs.
Team Captain's Meeting
- Attendance at the team captain's meetings is MANDATORY. Teams that do not attend the team captain's meeting will be dropped from competition.
- If the team captains is unable to attend the meeting, they may designate a representative to attend.
- Teams that waitlist will still be required to attend the team captain's meeting.
Initial Registration Period
- Team captains will need the Campus ID#, last name, and first name of all participants they wish to add to their roster. Specific instructions on how to enter players through the scheduling module will be provided at the team captain's meeting, and is available in the Intramural Sports Handbook.
- Team captains will need to have the minimum number of participants required for a valid roster by 5:00pm the day the scheduling module closes (typically, the Tuesday following the team captain's meeting). Failure to do so may result in your team being dropped from the schedule.
Manager’s Responsibility
The submission of information via this registration module certifies that I understand the Intramural Sports Governing Rules and Eligibility Guidelines, the Forfeit Charge Policy, the sport rules and understand the following the duties:
- I accept full responsibility for the conduct and eligibility of my players and all affairs regarding my team.
- I accept the responsibility for game attendance at the time and date my team is scheduled to participate.
- I understand that all players must be listed on the roster with first name, last name, and student identification number.
- I agree to the posting of my phone number and email address on the Campus Recreation web page for rescheduling purposes.
- I agree to accept full responsibility for payment of all forfeit charges incurred by my team.
