JURY DUTY

There are several criteria to be qualified to serve on a jury in North Carolina:

You must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of North Carolina.
You must be a resident of the county where you have been called to Jury Duty.
You must be physically and mentally competent.
You must be able to hear and understand the English language.
You must not have been convicted of or plead guilty to a felony unless your citizenship rights have been restored.
You must not have served on a jury in the proceeding two years.

To be excused from Jury Duty requires the approval of the court.
