Visiting NC State University

Halfway between the Blue Ridge Mountains and east-coast beaches, you'll find North Carolina State University. Located in the state's capital city of Raleigh and ranked as one of the nation's best places to live and work, NC State's campus is urban but surrounded by trees, green space and friendly people.

Whether you're coming here as a future student or prospective employee, the Joyner Visitor Center is the perfect place to start your tour and find information about the campus, its colleges and to learn why NC State is consistently ranked among the nation's top-40 public universities and a Princeton Review best value for students.

Get the inside story when you visit

Deciding where to go to college can be an exciting-and daunting-task. The best way to experience NC State and see how you fit in is by checking out the campus in person. NC State welcomes prospective students and families for visits. Admissions officers conduct information sessions throughout the year where you can hear everything you need to know about the application process, admissions requirements and academics. University Ambassadors, who are NC State students themselves, can give you the inside story on what it's like to be a student at NC State during a campus walking tour that starts at the Talley Student Center.

Some NC State colleges even offer special "Make-a-Date with State" sessions so you can see what it's really like to attend NC State as you shadow current students and attend class.
