1. Guest - Nancy
Breeding (Webmaster - ARTS NC State)
- The ARTS website
will be updated significantly soon, both in design and content.
- The website
will be moved to a different ACS server that will allow for Dreamweaver extensions;
this will allow the student workers to be more efficient.
- An online ticketing
program is being developed. It may be hosted by ACS, or by an outside vendor,
depending on price. It will be used by all units who currently utilize Ticket
Central.
- Nancy welcomes
any advice on negotiating a service agreement with ACS.
2. All
Campus Card Update (Randy Lait)
- There are several
issues forcing an update of the ID card system:
- the move
away from the Social Security Number to a Campus ID number
- the move
to proximity devices for building security
- the large
number of users (58,000) is pushing the current system to its limit
- New cards will
feature a proximity device (either in the card or in a keyfob, or both) for
entering buildings. Buidlings have to be retrofit with the proximity hardward
and software, and this expense will be passed to the departments in the buildings.
Several areas have already been fitted.
- New cards may
also include some banking features, which is to be determined.
- The new cards
will be distributed in a very limited manner for now, and wide-spread distribution
to students and employes and others will being in Summer 2004.
- Randy will continue
to update DETAG on this project.
3. Division
Logo and Web Redesign
- The logo designer
will likely come to a DETAG meeting in the near future to review drafts.
- Web redesign
- including some focus group work - is continuing via DETS.
4. DELTA
IDEA Grants
- Our Division
had three grant submissions; at least one was approved.
- The next cycle
is starting soon. Leslie will alert everyone once registration for Grant Workshops
opens.
5. Division
Webmasters & LANTechs
- DETS is sponsoring
a meeting of these two groups
- Two sessions
to accommodate all schedules (DETAG invited)
- Monday,
February 17: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. (Blue Room – TSC)
- Monday,
February 17: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. (3118 – TSC)
